Our Vision and Philosophy

Lap-Band Center of Oklahoma, is located within, and is a part of, Pinnacle Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, OK, a physician-owned surgical facility designed to provide individual, quality care for patients undergoing specialized surgical procedures that meet current and accepted standards of practice and the clinical capabilities of the hospital.

Pinnacle Specialty Hospital is designed, planned, and administered to render a safe, comfortable, effective environment for patients and staff. To provide assistance to the medical staff in meeting certain restorative health needs of the patients, Pinnacle Specialty Hospital treats patients without regard to race, color, creed, political or religious belief, sexual orientation, age, national origin, handicap, gender, or source of payment. Ronnie Keith, D.O. completed undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating with a BS in Pharmacy. After 5 years of working pharmacy, he completed medical school at Oklahoma State University of Osteopathic Medicine and completed general surgery residency in St. Louis, Missouri. Board-Certified and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgery, he is also a fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

With over 8,000 Laparoscopic procedures and over 3,000 Laparoscopic weight loss surgeries, Dr. Keith has shared in the excitement of success with many patients. In this age of specialization, he is one of the few surgeons in the country that has performed over 1,000 Laparoscopic Gastric Bypasses and 1,000 Adjustable Gastric Band procedures. With the addition of the Gastric Sleeve, our current practice consists of approximately 40% Gastric Bypass, 27% Lap-Band, 30% Sleeve and 3% Revision/Conversion. Speaking at the national level, participating in regional workshops and proctoring have taken him from Arizona to New York, the Gulf states to Illinois and locations between. Over 60 surgeons have been visited and proctored or reverse-proctored by coming to NORMAN and observing our procedures. As the founder of OKlahoma WEIGHT LOSS OPtions in 2002, he was one of the first to endorse the multi-provider approach to manage surgical weight loss.
